Band Names

There is an art to coming up with a good band name. Some of my favorites are "The Tragically Hip", "The Subdudes", and "Souled Out". In daily conversation I like to listen for little phrases that would make good band (& album) names. I'm going to start posting them when they pop into my head.

Tonight's inspiration: my little girl, the Fish-imp, was playing with her toothbrush instead of using it as directed - hence: "Johnnie G & the Toothbrush Suckers".

Better than work!

Mrs. Fishpimp & I are hanging out in Maui for the weekend on the company Sales Superstars trip. I have to say: the Fairmont here is a pretty sweet operation. It's a bit windy, but it's 75 degrees and, by Seattle standards, sunny. I'm still blown away that I made the trip. Last night I had dinner with a cople of the company sales heavyweights, tomorrow I'm in a foursome with the Sr. VP of Sales at the Grand Wialea Golf Club. Not bad for a short white guy with glasses from Seattle.

Discoveries

One of the things I love about my job is that I get paid to explore Seattle. Yesterday I went into a used furniture store down on 1st ave. It's in the old Central Gun Exchange building. Apparently they had an unofficial indoor shooting range. For 50 years they shot bullets into the building foundation. You can see the result in the picture. Who knew?

Tactics

I'm working on picking up the uniform business at the Fishhouse. They're evaluating me and another company that delivers out of Portland. I-5 gets shut down every year due to floods,including this week. So today I just sent them this picture:


Hopefully it seals the deal
